If you view bed bugs under a magnifying lens, you’ll find that bed bugs are wingless. They’re no different from other insects, with protective and waxy skin covers.

Pictures give away why bed bugs are so small, from atop, they look like flatted creatures. No wonder, they can crawl into and hide through even the littlest and smallest crevices and holes in the flooring and in walls.

Where To Find Bed Bugs

Night time, is active time for these small insects. And we know that our eyesight is weaker and less reliable during nighttime. Hence, it becomes very hard to find and see these bugs, particularly during night time when they usually go out hunting for a meal. But in general, bed bugs are nearly always found in crevices and tiny holes in the flooring or in walls.

The Bed Bugs’ Eggs

Bed bugs are too small for us to see them well, not surprisingly, their eggs are even smaller! They can be carried away with the breeze. The eggs can easily spread because of their size and light weight.

Closer look at egg pictures will indicate that they’re almost like all other insects’ eggs, small, miniscule, yet equipped with structures that can make them fully independent. Thus, bed bugs’ eggs can hatch by themselves and the bugs can flourish even without their moms around.

It only takes ten days for the eggs to hatch.

Female bed bugs, as displayed in pictures easily seen through the Internet and through books, appear  like queen ants during pregnancy. They get enlarged before they lay eggs. Why? Female bed bugs can lay about three hundred eggs in one pregnancy.

Doing Away With Bed Bugs

Through the pictures, we can see that bed bugs have protective waxy coverings that make them very similar with most other insects. It’s this physical attribute that makes them, and other insects with same structures, to endure extermination and harsh environment changes.

Numerous pesticides target these protective coverings. Insecticides largely contain powder zed silicon and glass granules that break into this protective cover.

Look closely at their pics and you’ll see that after these protective coverings, the bed bugs’ vulnerable insides and bodies lie. Pesticides, then attack these structures killing the bed bugs in minutes or hours.
